Tips for new users

ChaosPrep is a Progressive Web App. Install it for a native app experience:On desktop (Chrome/Edge):
  1. Look for the install icon in the address bar
  2. Click Install ChaosPrep
On mobile (Android/iOS):
  1. Open the browser menu
  2. Select Add to Home Screen
Installed PWAs work offline, launch faster, and feel like native apps.
All your data syncs to the cloud, but ChaosPrep fully supports offline use:
  • View and edit tasks
  • Run the timer
  • Log errors and questions
  • Update syllabus progress
When you reconnect, all changes sync automatically to Firebase.
If you’re preparing for multiple exams or change your target, update your exam type in Settings without losing data. Your tasks, timer logs, and syllabus progress remain intact.
ChaosPrep uses a “logical day” that starts at your configured Day Rollover Hour (default: 12:00 AM).If you study late at night (e.g., 2 AM) and your rollover is set to 4 AM, that session counts toward the previous calendar day. This protects your streak and accurately reflects your study schedule.Configure this in Settings → Day Rollover Hour.
