Create your account

Sign up with your email address. You’ll receive a verification email to confirm your account.
Your email will never be shared with third parties. Chapter uses industry-standard encryption to protect your data.

Set up your profile

Add your basic information:
  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • School or sixth form (optional but recommended for better matching)
You can customize your profile later with a photo, bio, and social media links.

Complete your onboarding

Chapter’s onboarding flow helps us understand your situation and goals to provide personalized recommendations.

Tell us your enrollment status

Select which best describes you:
Prospect status - Perfect if you’re in Year 10-13 and exploring your options. Chapter will show you course discovery tools, career guidance, and university information.

Add your grades (prospects only)

If you’re exploring courses, add your predicted or achieved grades:
  • Select your qualification (A-Levels, BTECs, Scottish Highers, IB, etc.)
  • Add each subject and grade
  • Chapter automatically calculates your UCAS points
This helps Chapter Match recommend courses that match your academic profile.
You can update your grades anytime in Settings → Profile → Academic Information

Set your preferences

Help Chapter understand what matters to you:Location preferences:
  • Choose regions you’re willing to study in (London, South East, Scotland, etc.)
  • Set your maximum distance from home (or select “anywhere in the UK”)
  • Add your home postcode for accurate distance calculations
Interests and sports:
  • Select your interests (programming, entrepreneurship, nature, politics, etc.)
  • Choose sports you’d like to continue at university
These help Chapter recommend universities with societies and facilities that match your lifestyle.

Start exploring courses

Once you’ve completed onboarding, you’re ready to discover your perfect course. Chapter Match is an AI-powered tool that finds courses matching your profile, grades, and preferences.

Open Chapter Match

From your Hub, tap the Chapter Match widget, or go to the Search tab and tap Start Matching.

Swipe through course recommendations

Chapter presents courses one at a time, tailored to your grades and preferences.
  • Swipe right or tap the heart to save courses you’re interested in
  • Swipe left to skip courses that don’t appeal to you
  • Tap a course card to view full details before deciding
The more you swipe, the better Chapter understands your preferences and improves recommendations.

View your matches

Courses you liked are automatically saved to your shortlist. Access them anytime from:
  • Hub → Course Shortlist widget
  • Lists tab → My Lists
  • Chapter Match → View Matches button

  • UCAS points required
  • Course length (3 years, 4 years with placement, etc.)
  • Qualification (BSc, BA, MEng, etc.)
  • Location and distance from home
  • Tuition fees
For universities:
  • Region
  • University type (Russell Group, modern, specialist)
  • Student population size
  • Accommodation guarantee

Compare your favorites

Found multiple courses or universities you like? Use the Compare feature:
  1. Tap Compare in the Hub or Search tab
  2. Select 2-4 courses or universities
  3. See side-by-side comparisons of rankings, costs, graduate outcomes, and more

Build your shortlist

As you explore, save courses to your shortlist for easy access later.

Create a shortlist

From the Lists tab, tap Create New List and choose:
  • Course List - For saving degree programs
  • University List - For saving institutions
  • Accommodation List - For saving housing options (offer holders)

Add items to your list

When viewing any course, university, or accommodation, tap the Add to List button and select your shortlist.
You can create multiple lists, such as “Top Choices,” “Backup Options,” or organized by subject.

View and manage your shortlists

Access your lists anytime from:
  • Lists tab - See all your saved items
  • Hub - Use the Course Shortlist widget for quick access
From your list, you can:
  • Swipe through courses in full-screen view
  • Compare items in your list
  • Share your list with parents, teachers, or friends
  • Mark courses as firm, insurance, or additional choices

University profiles

Tap any university to view:
  • Key statistics (student population, acceptance rate, etc.)
  • Campus location and map
  • University rankings (Guardian, Times, Complete University Guide)
  • Student satisfaction scores
  • All courses offered at this university
  • Filter by subject area
  • Sort by ranking, entry requirements, or graduate salary
  • Accommodation options and guarantees
  • Societies and sports clubs
  • Nightlife and social scene ratings
  • Cost of living estimates
  • Interactive campus map
  • Photos and virtual tours
  • Transport links and accessibility

Tap any course to view:
