Best Practices

Most societies have taster events and sign-up deals during the first weeks. Don’t miss out!
Attend a few events before paying membership fees. Most societies welcome guests to initial sessions.
Engage with the community, respond to polls, and attend events regularly to get the most value.
Quality over quantity. It’s better to be active in 3-5 societies than passive in 20.
Consider running for committee positions in your second or third year. Great for CV and leadership skills.
Committee members are volunteers. Be patient with response times and appreciate their work.
