Vault follows a non-standard workflow where published commits may be rewritten or removed without notice as part of the debugging and improvement process.

Project Lifecycle Stages

Each project in Vault is tagged with a lifecycle badge that indicates its current development status. Understanding these stages helps you choose the right tool for your needs.

Experimental

Experimental Projects in the experimental stage are actively evolving and may change without notice. These are cutting-edge tools that are still finding their final form.
  • Status: May change without notice
  • Use Case: Testing new features and approaches
  • Stability: Expect breaking changes

Beta

Beta Beta projects are undergoing testing with minor adjustments ongoing. The core functionality is established, but refinements continue.
  • Status: Testing and minor adjustments ongoing
  • Use Case: Early adoption with feedback
  • Stability: Core features stable, details may change

Release Candidate

Release Candidate Release candidate projects are nearly production-ready with only critical fixes expected.
  • Status: Only critical fixes expected
  • Use Case: Pre-production testing
  • Stability: Very stable, minimal changes

Frozen

Frozen Frozen projects have halted development with no planned changes. They remain available for use in their current state.
  • Status: Development halted, no planned changes
  • Use Case: Stable, unchanging tools
  • Stability: No future modifications

Deprecated

Deprecated Deprecated projects are obsolete and will receive no further updates. Consider alternative solutions.
  • Status: Obsolete project, no further updates
  • Use Case: Legacy support only
  • Stability: No maintenance or bug fixes
