Recent Windows Updates Issue: Windows Updates released after July 2024 are breaking WSA installations for many users.Recommended Fix for Builds with GApps:Alternative Workarounds:
  • Switch to builds without GApps (look for NoGApps in the archive name)
  • Use older WSA builds (2211/2210) which are known to work
For more information, refer to Issue #593
Long Folder Names: If the auto-generated folder name is too long and causes WSA not to start, rename the extracted folder to simply WSA before installation.

Next Steps

After downloading:
  1. Extract the .7z archive

  3. Follow the Installation Guide for setup instructions
Keep the extracted folder - you’ll need it to run WSA. The installation process registers the app package from these files.
