Before installing WSABuilds, ensure your system meets the following requirements. Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) requires specific hardware and software configurations to run properly.

Operating System Requirements

Windows 11

Build 22000.526 or higherYour PC should meet the basic Windows 11 requirements:
  • Core i3 8th Gen
  • Ryzen 3000
  • Snapdragon 8c or above

Windows 10

22H2 10.0.19045.2311 or higherMay work on Windows 10: 20H1 10.0.19041.264 or higher¹
¹ You may need to install KB5014032 then KB5022834 to use WSA on older Windows 10 builds
Custom/modified Windows OS installations (such as ReviOS, Tiny 10/11, and Ghost Spectre) may have issues running WSA.

Hardware Requirements

Memory (RAM)

  • 4 to 6 GB - Not Recommended
  • 8 GB - Minimum
  • 16 GB - Recommended

Processor

CPU Architecture: x86_64 or arm64
It is highly recommended that your processor is listed in the supported CPU lists for Windows 11 requirements

Graphics Card (GPU)

Any compatible Intel, AMD, or Nvidia GPU.
GPU performance may vary depending on its compatibility with Windows Subsystem For Android.
Known Issues:
  • Intel HD Graphics 530 and Older: WSA may not start or graphical glitches will occur. These GPUs do not meet Windows 11 requirements. You may need to switch to another iGPU/dGPU/eGPU or Microsoft Basic Renderer.
  • Nvidia GPUs: Known to cause problems. If WSA does not start or there are graphical glitches, switch to another GPU or Microsoft Basic Renderer.

Storage

Recommended

Solid-State Drive (SSD)Best performance for WSA

Not Recommended

Hard Disk Drive (HDD)May work but with slower performance
Minimum Storage: You must have at least 10GB free on the system drive (C:)

Partition Type

Windows Subsystem For Android can only be installed on an NTFS partition, not on an exFAT partition.

Windows Features Required

The following Windows features must be enabled for WSA to function:

Virtual Machine Platform

Required for virtualization

Windows Hypervisor Platform

Required for Hyper-V components
Enable these features by pressing Windows Key + R, typing OptionalFeatures.exe, pressing Enter, and selecting the features above, followed by clicking Apply.

Virtualization

Your computer must support virtualization and have it enabled in BIOS/UEFI and Optional Features.
Follow Microsoft’s official guide: Enable virtualization on Windows 11 PCs
