Overview

The application includes several built-in study tools to help you learn more effectively during practice tests. These tools are available in both domain tests and full exam simulations.
All study tools are easily accessible from the question interface - no separate menus or complicated workflows.

Flagging Questions

Mark questions for later review using the flagging system.

How to Flag

1

Click the Flag Icon

At the top of any question, click the flag icon button to mark it.
2

Visual Confirmation

When flagged:
  • The flag icon fills with color (orange)
  • The flag button background changes to orange
  • The question appears highlighted in the navigation grid
3

Unflag

Click the flag icon again to remove the flag. The button returns to its default state.

When to Use Flags

Use flags during full exam simulations to:
  • Mark questions you’re uncertain about
  • Create a review checklist before submitting
  • Identify questions to revisit if time allows
  • Track difficult concepts for later study
Before finishing the exam, jump to each flagged question using the orange-highlighted boxes in the navigation grid.

Flag Indicators

Flagged questions are visible:
  • In the header: Orange/filled flag icon
  • In the navigation grid: Orange background on the question number
  • Visual distinction: Easy to spot when scanning the question grid

Notes Feature

Add personal notes to any question to capture insights and study tips.

How to Add Notes

1

Open Notes

Click the bookmark icon at the top of any question. A text area slides down with smooth animation.
2

Write Your Note

Type your notes in the text box:
  • Explain concepts in your own words
  • Write mnemonic devices
  • Note why certain answers are wrong
  • Record areas to research further
  • Add study tips for yourself
3

Auto-Save

Notes are saved automatically as you type - no save button needed.
4

Close Notes

Click the bookmark icon again to hide the notes area. Your notes are preserved.

Visual Indicators

Questions with notes show:
  • Blue bookmark icon at the top of the question
  • Blue dot in the bottom-right corner of the question box in the navigation grid
  • Blue highlight on the bookmark button when notes area is open

Note Ideas

Concept Clarification

“Remember: IAM roles don’t require password rotation, unlike IAM users”

Mnemonics

“SPAR: Security groups are Stateful, NACLs Process both directions, Allow/deny rules, Return traffic”

Wrong Answer Analysis

“B is wrong because CloudWatch monitors, but doesn’t manage resources directly”

Study Reminders

“Review S3 storage classes - confused between Glacier options”
Use notes to transform passive reading into active learning. Writing concepts in your own words significantly improves retention.

Answer Elimination

Narrow down choices by eliminating options you know are incorrect.

How It Works

1

Click the X

Each answer option has a small × button on the right side. Click it to eliminate that answer.
2

Visual Change

Eliminated answers become:
  • Grayed out
  • Struck through with a line
  • Dimmed to show they’re inactive
3

Reactivate

Click the × again to bring the answer back into consideration.

Strategy Benefits

Answer elimination helps you:
  1. Reduce cognitive load: Focus only on plausible answers
  2. Improve odds: Narrowing from 4 to 2 options doubles your guess success rate
  3. Apply test-taking strategy: Classic technique recommended for standardized tests
  4. Stay organized: Visually track which answers you’ve ruled out
  5. Prevent mistakes: Avoid accidentally selecting an answer you know is wrong
For questions with one correct answer:
  1. Read all options carefully
  2. Eliminate obviously wrong answers
  3. Focus on remaining 2-3 options
  4. Select your best choice from the narrowed set
Eliminated answers cannot be selected. If you eliminate an answer and then want to select it, click the × first to reactivate it.

Concept Map

Access an interactive mind map showing all AWS domains and their key concepts.

Accessing the Concept Map

1

Navigate to Concept Map

From the home screen, click the Concept Map tab in the top navigation (icon: map pin).
2

Explore the Map

An interactive XMind map displays showing:
  • All four AWS certification domains
  • Key concepts within each domain
  • Relationships between topics
  • Hierarchical organization of content
3

Use for Study

Use the concept map to:
  • Understand domain structure
  • See how topics relate to each other
  • Plan your study approach
  • Identify knowledge gaps

When to Use the Concept Map

Before Testing

Review the map before taking domain tests to:
  • Get an overview of what topics are covered
  • Prime your brain for the subject matter
  • Understand the scope of each domain

During Study

Reference the map while studying to:
  • See how individual concepts fit into the bigger picture
  • Find related topics to study together
  • Identify connections between domains

After Low Scores

Consult the map after poor performance to:
  • Identify specific weak areas within a domain
  • Plan targeted study sessions
  • Understand what you need to focus on

Final Review

Use before the real exam to:
  • Do a final comprehensive review
  • Ensure you haven’t missed any topics
  • Refresh high-level understanding
The concept map is especially useful when you score poorly on a domain but aren’t sure which specific topics to study.
The question navigation grid provides visual tracking of your progress.

Grid Features

Each question box shows:
  • Number: Question number (1-30 for domains, 1-65 for full exam)
  • Color coding:
    • White/gray: Unanswered
    • Filled: Answered
    • Green: Correct (domain tests)
    • Red: Incorrect (domain tests)
    • Orange: Flagged
  • Orange ring: Current question
  • Blue dot: Has notes

Grid Layout

  • Domain tests: 30 boxes in a 10-column grid (3 rows)
  • Full exam: 65 boxes in a 10-column grid (7 rows)
  • Responsive: Adjusts to 5 columns on mobile devices
  • Fixed position: Always visible at bottom of sidebar

Battery Life

On OLED screens, dark mode can extend battery life on laptops and tablets

Color Coding in Dark Mode

All visual indicators remain clear in dark mode:
  • Performance colors (green/red) maintain visibility
  • Flagged questions stay orange
  • Notes indicator remains blue
  • Text contrast is optimized for readability
  • UI elements adapt automatically

Immediate Feedback (Domain Tests)

Domain tests provide instant feedback after each answer.

What You See

After clicking “Continue” on a domain test question:
1

Correct/Incorrect Indicator

A feedback box appears showing:
  • “Correct!” in green for correct answers
  • “Incorrect” in red for wrong answers
2

Correct Answer Display

The feedback shows:
  • Letter labels (A, B, C, etc.) of correct answers
  • Full text of the correct answer options
3

Detailed Explanation

A written explanation describes:
  • Why the correct answer is right
  • Key concepts involved
  • Important facts to remember
4

Visual Answer Highlighting

Answer options are color-coded:
  • Green: Correct answers (with green border/ring)
  • Red: Your incorrect selection (with red border/ring)
Read every explanation carefully, even for questions you answered correctly. They often contain valuable insights and reinforce learning.

Combining Study Tools

  1. Navigate through flagged questions
  2. Read your notes for each
  3. Review eliminated answers
  4. Reconsider your selections
  5. Use the question grid to find unanswered questions
  6. Make final changes before submitting

Best Practices

  • Flag liberally during full exams
  • Use flags to mark both uncertain answers AND questions you want to study more
  • Review all flagged questions before finishing the exam
  • In domain tests, flag questions even after seeing the answer if the concept is unclear
