Technical Details

Data Refresh Rate

  • Activity log: Updates every 3-5 seconds
  • Metrics: Update every 5-10 seconds
  • Charts: Update every minute

Data Retention

Real-time data is retained as part of your regular analytics data. The “real-time” view simply filters to show the most recent activity. All data remains available in historical reports.

Best Practices

  • Keep real-time view open during important launches or campaigns
  • Use real-time data to verify tracking implementation
  • Monitor for unusual spikes or drops in traffic
  • Cross-reference real-time data with external events
  • Don’t rely solely on real-time data for decision-making
  • Use filters to focus on specific traffic sources

Troubleshooting

Possible causes:
  • Tracking code not properly installed
  • Browser extensions blocking scripts
  • Recent website deployment not live yet
  • DNS propagation delays
Solutions:
  • Verify tracking code in page source
  • Test in incognito/private browsing mode
  • Check browser console for errors
  • Wait a few minutes and refresh
Remember:
  • Only shows visitors in the last 60 minutes
  • Excludes bot traffic (by design)
  • Privacy-focused tracking may differ from other tools
  • Users with ad blockers may not be tracked
