What is a Study Plan?
A study plan is a curated collection of learning resources (YouTube videos, PDFs, articles, and more) organized for a specific course or topic. Once created, you can start an instance to track your progress through the materials.Creating Your First Study Plan
Navigate to Create Plan
Click the Create Plan button from your dashboard or the “My Plans” page. This will take you to the study plan creation form.
Fill in Basic Information
Provide the essential details about your study plan:
- Title: A clear, descriptive name for your plan (e.g., “Introduction to Machine Learning”)
- Course Code: The course identifier (e.g., “CSE101”, “MATH202”)
- Short Description: A brief one-line summary of what the plan covers
- Full Description: Optional detailed information about the learning objectives and content
- Public/Private: Toggle whether other users can discover and use your plan
Add Resources
Build your study plan by adding learning materials. Study Sync supports multiple resource types:YouTube Videos
- Paste any YouTube video URL
- The system automatically fetches the title and duration
- Add an entire playlist at once
- All videos are added individually for granular progress tracking
- Provide the PDF URL
- Enter the title and number of pages
- Set estimated minutes per page (default: 3 minutes)
- Paste the article URL
- Enter the title and estimated reading time in minutes
- Share files stored in Google Drive
- Optionally add a custom title and time estimate
- Add any other web resource
- Must provide a title
- Optionally add time estimate
Organize Resources
After adding resources, you can:
- Reorder: Drag and drop resources to arrange them in the optimal learning sequence
- Remove: Click the trash icon to delete resources you no longer need
- Preview: See the total time and resource count update in real-time
Best Practices
Managing Visibility
When creating a plan, you can control who can access it:- Private Plans: Only you and people you explicitly share with can see and start instances
- Public Plans: Anyone can discover, view, and start instances of your plan
