Ocean Biome Types
Stonegate Seas
Stonegate Seas
Medium-depth ocean, with giant stone arches under and on the surface. The arches are made mossy and partially green, with lush green foliage covering it.Key Features:
- Giant stone arches spanning above and below water
- Mossy stone surfaces with green vegetation
- Medium depth suitable for exploration
- Lush underwater foliage
Abyssal Alleys
Abyssal Alleys
Deep ocean variant, with trenches reaching all the way down to bedrock level. There are large, semi-open caves to explore, with fossils at the bottom of the trenches and corals near the top.Key Features:
- Extremely deep trenches to bedrock
- Semi-open cave systems
- Fossils at the deepest points
- Coral formations near the surface
- Perfect for deep sea exploration
Arctic Arches
Arctic Arches
Frozen version of the Stonegate Seas, with frozen water segments, and large ice arches reaching through the sky. Icicles are found on the ceiling of the arches.Key Features:
- Frozen ocean surface segments
- Massive ice arches extending skyward
- Icicles hanging from arch ceilings
- Cold climate aesthetic
- Based on Stonegate Seas structure
Ocean Generation
Ocean biomes in Origen are determined by the cellular noise system, which categorizes cells as ocean based on continental values. This ensures that ocean biomes maintain consistent sizes and don’t awkwardly truncate at land boundaries.Ocean biomes often generate near coastal biomes, creating natural transitions between land and sea.
