Writing a Review

1

Navigate to Anime Page

Find the anime you want to review using search or your lists.
2

Click Write Review

Click the “Write Review” or “Review” button on the anime page.
3

Add Overall Rating

Rate the anime from 1-10 using the star selector:
1-2: Terrible
3-4: Poor
5-6: Average
7-8: Good
9-10: Excellent
Your overall rating is the most important metric. Be honest—it helps others and improves recommendations.
4

Rate Individual Aspects

Provide detailed ratings for:
  • Story (1-10): Plot, pacing, narrative structure
  • Animation (1-10): Visual quality, art style, fluidity
  • Sound (1-10): Music, voice acting, sound effects
  • Character (1-10): Development, personality, relationships
  • Enjoyment (1-10): Personal enjoyment factor
Individual ratings are optional but provide richer feedback. The overall rating is calculated as an average if you don’t set it manually.
5

Write Review Title

Create a compelling title that summarizes your opinion:Good examples:
  • “A Masterpiece of Storytelling and Animation”
  • “Great Concept, Disappointing Execution”
  • “The Perfect Comfort Anime for Cozy Weekends”
Keep it under 100 characters.
6

Write Review Body

Share your detailed thoughts:Recommended structure:
  1. Opening hook (1-2 sentences)
  2. Story summary (no spoilers)
  3. What you liked
  4. What could be improved
  5. Who should watch this
  6. Final verdict
Aim for 200-500 words for a well-rounded review. Shorter reviews lack detail; longer reviews may lose readers.
7

Add Pros and Cons (Optional)

Create bullet-point lists:Pros (strengths):
  • Compelling character arcs
  • Stunning animation quality
  • Memorable soundtrack
Cons (weaknesses):
  • Slow pacing in middle episodes

  • Weak supporting cast

Evaluate the narrative:

Assess visual quality:
  • Art Style: Unique, appealing, consistent?
  • Fluidity: Smooth movement in action scenes?
  • Detail: Background art, character designs?
  • Direction: Creative shot composition, cinematography?

Sound Rating (1-10)

Rate audio elements:
  • Music: Memorable soundtrack? Fits the mood?
  • Voice Acting: Convincing performances?

Your personal experience:
  • Fun Factor: Did you enjoy watching?

Enjoyment is subjective! An anime can have technical flaws but still be highly enjoyable, or be well-made but not match your tastes.

Review Examples

Example: Positive Review

Title: "A Masterpiece That Redefines the Genre"

Overall: 10/10
Story: 10/10 | Animation: 10/10 | Sound: 9/10 | Character: 10/10 | Enjoyment: 10/10

Attack on Titan completely exceeded my expectations from the first episode.
The story masterfully blends action, mystery, and political intrigue...

**Pros:**
- Unpredictable plot twists
- Complex, morally gray characters
- Stunning animation during action sequences
- World-building that keeps expanding

**Cons:**
- Some pacing issues in Season 3
- Dense exposition in later episodes

**Recommendation:** Must-watch for any anime fan.

Example: Mixed Review

Title: "Great Visuals, Weak Story"

Overall: 6/10
Story: 4/10 | Animation: 9/10 | Sound: 7/10 | Character: 5/10 | Enjoyment: 6/10

While the animation is absolutely gorgeous, the story feels shallow and
predictable. Characters lack depth beyond surface-level traits...

**Pros:**
- Breathtaking art style
- Smooth, fluid animation
- Great soundtrack

**Cons:**
- Predictable plot
- One-dimensional characters
- Slow pacing

**Recommendation:** Watch for the visuals, but don't expect a compelling story.

Explain Your Ratings: Don’t just say “7/10”—explain what made it a 7 instead of an 8 or 6.
Consider Your Audience: Who is this anime for? What should viewers expect?
Balance Positives and Negatives: Even great anime have flaws; even bad anime have redeeming qualities.
