Overview

AniDojo’s list management system helps you organize and track your anime watching journey. Create custom lists, track episode progress, rate anime, and manage your entire collection in one place.

Accessing Your Lists

Navigate to My Lists from the sidebar or go to /my-lists to access your anime collection.

Understanding List Statuses

AniDojo organizes your anime into five status categories:

Adding Anime to Your Lists

Click Add Anime

On the My Lists page, click the + Add Anime button in the top-right corner.

Search for Anime

In the modal that appears, search for the anime you want to add by title. The search queries the MyAnimeList database.

Select Status

Choose the appropriate status:
  • Watching
  • Completed
  • On Hold
  • Dropped
  • Plan to Watch

Add Details

Fill in additional information:
  • Episodes watched: Track your progress
  • Rating: Score from 1-10
  • Start date: When you began watching
  • Finish date: When you completed it
  • Notes: Personal notes (up to 500 characters)
  • Tags: Custom tags for organization
  • Priority: Low, Medium, or High

Save Entry

Click Save to add the anime to your list.
You can also add anime directly from any anime detail page using the “Add to List” button!

Organizing Your Lists

Filtering by Status

Use the status tabs at the top to filter your collection:
  • All: View your entire collection
  • Watching: See what you’re currently watching
  • Completed: Browse finished anime
  • On Hold: Review paused anime
  • Dropped: See discontinued anime
  • Plan to Watch: Check your watchlist
Each tab displays the count of anime in that category.

Sorting Options

Sort your anime by:
  • Title (A-Z / Z-A): Alphabetical order
  • Score (High to Low / Low to High): By your rating
  • Date Added: Most recently added first
  • Last Updated: Recently modified entries
  • Progress: By completion percentage

Search Your Lists

Use the search bar to find anime in your collection by:
  • Title (English or Japanese)
  • Tags
  • Notes

View Modes

AniDojo offers three view modes for your lists:

Cards View

Visual grid layout featuring:
  • Cover art
  • Title and status badge
  • Progress bar
  • Star rating
  • Quick action buttons
Cards view is perfect for browsing your collection visually.

Table View

Detailed spreadsheet-style layout showing:
  • Thumbnail and title
  • Type (TV, Movie, OVA)
  • Progress (episodes watched)
  • Your score
  • Status badge
  • Date added
  • Action buttons

Compact View

Condensed list format with:
  • Small thumbnail
  • Essential information
  • Status indicator
  • Quick actions
Table view is best when you need to see all details at once or manage many entries.

Editing List Entries

Open Quick Edit

Click the Edit button (pencil icon) on any anime card or in the actions column.

Update Information

Modify any of the following:
  • Status (move between categories)
  • Episodes watched
  • Rating (1-10 stars)
  • Notes
  • Favorite status
  • Priority level

Save Changes

Click Save to update the entry.

Quick Episode Increment

For anime you’re currently watching:
  1. Click the + button on the anime card
  2. Increments episodes watched by 1
  3. Automatically marks as “Completed” when you reach the final episode
This feature makes it easy to track progress as you watch episodes!

Bulk Operations

Bulk Edit Mode

Enable Bulk Edit

Click the Bulk Edit button in the toolbar.

Select Entries

Check the boxes next to anime you want to modify. Use Select All to choose all visible entries.

Perform Actions

Available bulk actions:
  • Delete selected entries
  • (More options coming soon)
Bulk operations are permanent. Double-check your selection before deleting!

List Statistics

View detailed statistics about your anime collection:

Overview Stats

  • Total Anime: Number of titles in your collection
  • Episodes Watched: Total episode count
  • Days Watched: Time spent watching (estimated at 24 min/episode)
  • Mean Score: Average rating across all rated anime
  • Standard Deviation: Rating consistency

Status Breakdown

See counts for each status category:
  • Watching, Completed, On Hold, Dropped, Plan to Watch

Score Distribution

View how many anime you’ve rated at each score level (1-10).

Top Genres

Discover which genres you watch most frequently.
Click the Stats button to toggle the statistics panel on and off.

Importing and Exporting

Import Lists

Bring your anime list from other platforms:
  1. Click the Import button
  2. Upload your list file (formats supported: MAL XML, JSON)
  3. Review imported entries
  4. Confirm import

Export Lists

Backup or share your collection:
  1. Click the Export Lists button in the Quick Actions panel
  2. Downloads your collection as JSON
  3. Includes all details (ratings, notes, tags, etc.)
Regularly export your lists as a backup of your anime collection!

Advanced Features

Custom Tags

Organize anime with custom tags:
  • Add multiple tags per anime
  • Filter by tags using search
  • Create your own organizational system
Examples: “Favorites”, “Rewatch”, “With Friends”, “Seasonal”

Priority Levels

Set priority for your Plan to Watch list:
  • High: Watch next
  • Medium: Watch soon
  • Low: Watch eventually

Favorite Status

Mark anime as favorites:
  • Toggle the heart icon
  • Appears in your profile’s favorite section
  • Quick filter for your best anime

Private Notes

Add personal notes (up to 500 characters):
  • Remind yourself why you liked/disliked it
  • Note where you left off
  • Track thoughts for your review
Notes are private and only visible to you.

Tips for List Management

  1. Update as you watch - Keep episode counts current
  2. Rate after completing - Add scores to finished anime
  3. Use notes - Jot down thoughts for later reviews
  4. Organize with tags - Create your own categories
  5. Set priorities - Organize your Plan to Watch queue
  6. Export regularly - Back up your collection
