Overview

Sahaj Hospitals provides streamlined admission processes for both emergency and planned admissions. Understanding the process beforehand helps ensure a smooth experience during what can be a stressful time.

Types of Admissions

Emergency Admission

For patients requiring immediate medical attention:
1

Arrival at Emergency Department

Report to the Emergency Department reception desk. Our triage nurse will assess the severity of your condition and prioritize treatment accordingly.
2

Initial Assessment

The emergency physician will evaluate your condition and determine if hospitalization is necessary. Immediate life-saving treatment will be provided as needed.
3

Admission Authorization

Once the decision to admit is made, our admissions team will be notified. They will begin the registration process at your bedside or in the emergency area.
4

Document Collection

Family members will be asked to provide identification and insurance information. Don’t worry if all documents aren’t immediately available - medical care takes priority.
5

Room Assignment

You will be assigned to an appropriate ward or ICU based on your medical needs and bed availability.
In emergency situations, treatment begins immediately regardless of documentation or payment arrangements. Financial counseling is available 24/7 to discuss payment options.

Planned Admission

For scheduled surgeries, procedures, or treatments:
1

Pre-Admission Consultation

Your doctor will provide an admission note specifying the date, time, and reason for admission. Schedule a pre-admission appointment at least 2-3 days before your planned admission date.
2

Pre-Admission Registration

Visit the Admissions Office (Ground Floor, Block A) during business hours (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM) to complete paperwork. Bring all required documents (see list below).
3

Medical Clearance

Complete any required pre-admission tests such as blood work, X-rays, or ECG. Your doctor will provide a list of necessary tests.
4

Financial Counseling

Meet with our financial counselor to discuss estimated costs, insurance coverage, and payment arrangements. Get written cost estimates for your records.
5

Admission Day

Arrive at the specified time on your admission date. Report to the Admissions Desk with your admission note and complete any remaining formalities.
6

Room Assignment

You will be escorted to your assigned room. A nurse will complete your admission assessment and orient you to the unit.
For planned surgeries, you must fast (no food or drink) as instructed by your surgeon - typically 8-12 hours before the procedure. Confirm fasting requirements during your pre-admission appointment.
