  • Team city or full name
  • Interactive links to team pages
  • Sticky positioning when scrolling horizontally
Click any team name to view their full roster, schedule, and team statistics.

W-L (Wins-Losses)

The win-loss record shows:
  • Wins in green (positive indicator)
  • Losses in red (negative indicator)
  • Format: W-L (e.g., “95-67”)
  • Tabular numerals for proper alignment

Win Percentage

Three-digit percentage showing:
  • Winning percentage (wins ÷ games played)
  • Color coding:
    • Green for .500 or above
    • Red for below .500
  • Format: .XXX (e.g., “.586”)

Understanding Standings

Playoff Implications

The team with the best record in each division (3 per league) automatically qualifies for the playoffs.
The next best teams by record (regardless of division) qualify as Wild Card entries. Games Back helps determine Wild Card positioning.
When teams have identical records, the league rank column reflects tiebreaker criteria like head-to-head record.

Streak Interpretation

  • W1: Won their last game
  • W5: Won their last 5 games consecutively
  • L3: Lost their last 3 games consecutively
Streaks reset when the opposite result occurs (a loss after wins, or a win after losses).

Color Coding

The standings use color to communicate information quickly:

Green/Positive

  • Wins
  • Above .500 percentages
  • Winning streaks

Red/Negative

  • Losses
  • Below .500 percentages
  • Losing streaks

Gray/Neutral

  • Division leader (no games back)
  • League rank
  • Headers

Structured Data

Standings pages include rich schema.org markup:
  • ItemList structure for search engines
  • Team standings as list items
  • Position information for each team
  • Full records and percentages
  • Links to team pages
This enables:
  • Rich search results
  • Voice assistant queries (“What are the current AL East standings?”)
  • Social media previews
