To create events, you need:- An active workspace
- At least Member role in the workspace
- Approved KYC verification (for paid events only)
Event Creation Workflow
The event creation process consists of 6 steps:Basic Information
Start by providing the essential details about your event.
Event Image
Upload a cover image for your event (optional but recommended):- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP
- Maximum file size: 5MB
- Recommended dimensions: 1200x630px for best display
Event Title
Enter a clear, descriptive title for your event:- Maximum length: 255 characters
- Make it searchable and descriptive
Description
Provide a detailed description using the rich text editor:- Minimum: 10 characters
- Maximum: 5,000 characters
- Support for formatting, links, and lists
- Include key details, agenda, speakers, and what attendees will gain
Category
Select from predefined categories:- Tech & Innovation
- Conference & Expo
- Workshop & Training
- Networking & Meetup
- Music & Concert
- Creative Arts
- Business & Finance
- Charity & Community
- Festival
- Sports
- Food & Drink
- Education
- Health & Wellness
- Travel & Tourism
- Other (requires custom category name)
Event Details
Configure the type, pricing, and location of your event.
Event Type
Choose how your event will be delivered:Physical- In-person event at a venue
- Requires venue address
- Virtual event only
- Requires meeting link
- Supports Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or custom platforms
- Both in-person and online
- Requires both venue and meeting link
Pricing
Select whether your event is free or paid:Free Events- No payment required from attendees
- Available to all organizers
- Attendees register directly without tickets
- Requires payment through ticket purchase
- Requires approved KYC verification
- Configure ticket types in Step 4
- Payments processed through Paystack
Venue (Physical/Hybrid Events)
Enter the complete venue details:Meeting Platform (Online/Hybrid Events)
Select your virtual meeting platform:- Google Meet: Provide Google Meet link
- Zoom: Provide Zoom meeting link
- Microsoft Teams: Provide Teams meeting link
- Custom Link: Any other platform
Location
Specify the city and country:- City: e.g., “Nairobi”
- Country: e.g., “Kenya”
Date & Time
Schedule when your event will take place.Recurrence Days
Start Date & Time
Select when your event begins:- Use the date-time picker
- Must be in the future
- Includes timezone support
End Date & Time
Select when your event ends:- Must be after start date/time
- Can span multiple days
Recurring Events (Optional)
Enable if your event repeats on a schedule:Recurrence PatternRecurring events create multiple event instances based on your schedule. Each instance can be managed independently.
Tickets (Paid Events Only)
Configure ticket types and pricing. This step is skipped for free events.Price
Adding Ticket Types
Create multiple ticket tiers with different pricing:Click “Add Ticket Type” for each tier you want to offer.For each ticket type, specify:Ticket Name- Enter numeric value (e.g., 1500)
- No decimal points required for whole numbers
- Minimum: 0 (for free tier within paid event)
- Currently supports: KES (Kenyan Shilling)
- Default: KES
- Maximum number of tickets available
- Leave empty for unlimited tickets
- Example: 100 for limited VIP tickets
Partners & Sponsors (Optional)
Add event partners and sponsors to showcase support.Click “Add Partner” to include:Links will be clickable on the event page.Partners appear on your event’s public page, giving visibility to your supporters.

- Upload partner/sponsor logo

Review & Submit
Review all event details before publishing.
Review Checklist
Verify:- Event title and description are accurate
- Dates and times are correct (check timezone)
- Venue or meeting links are valid
- Ticket prices are set correctly (for paid events)
- All required fields are complete
Submit Event
Click “Submit” to create your event.The system will:- Upload event image and partner logos
- Create the event record
- Set up ticket types (for paid events)
- Generate a unique event ID and short URL
- Set event status to “Active”
- You’ll be redirected to your events page
- Your event is immediately visible to attendees
- You can manage it from the “Manage Events” page
Event Status
Your event can have one of four statuses:- Active: Event is published and visible to attendees
- Inactive: Event is hidden from public view
- Canceled: Event has been canceled
- Postponed: Event dates have changed
After Event Creation
Once your event is created:- Share Your Event: Copy the event URL and share on social media
- Monitor Registrations: Track attendee registrations in real-time
- Manage Attendees: View and manage registered attendees
- Send Updates: Use announcements to communicate with attendees
- Check Analytics: Monitor ticket sales and registration trends

High-Quality Images

- Show previous event success (if applicable)
Clear Date Communication

- Double-check timezone settings
- Mention timezone in description for international events
- Give clear start and end times
- For multi-day events, provide daily schedule
Common Issues
“Paid pricing option not available”- Complete your KYC verification first
- Ensure KYC status is “Approved”
- Navigate to
/workspace/{workspaceId}/kycto submit
- Check file size is under 5MB
- Ensure file format is JPG, PNG, or WebP
- Try a different image or compress the file
- Verify the dates are in correct order
- Check timezone settings
- Ensure end time is later than start time
- Add at least one ticket type with pricing
- Or switch event pricing to “Free”
