The ApplyTrack browser extension is your high-speed bridge between job boards and your career dashboard. Once installed, it automatically captures every application you submit—no manual data entry required.

System Requirements

Before installing, ensure you meet these requirements:
  • Chrome 90+, Firefox 88+, or Edge 90+
  • Active ApplyTrack account (free or premium)
  • Internet connection for real-time sync

Installation Steps

Visit Chrome Web Store

Navigate to the ApplyTrack extension page in the Chrome Web Store (search for “ApplyTrack”).

Add to Chrome

Click the Add to Chrome button in the top right corner.A popup will appear asking for permissions. The extension requires:
  • Access to job board websites to detect applications
  • Storage permissions to sync with your dashboard
  • Network access to communicate with ApplyTrack servers

Confirm Installation

Click Add Extension to confirm the installation.The ApplyTrack icon will appear in your browser toolbar. You may need to click the puzzle piece icon to pin it for easy access.

Sign In

Click the ApplyTrack extension icon and sign in with your account credentials.The extension will sync with your dashboard and activate automatic tracking.

Verifying Installation

After signing in, you should see:
  • A green checkmark on the extension icon indicating active status
  • A welcome notification confirming connection to your dashboard
  • Your current tracking plan (Free, Premium, or Platinum)
Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access to tracking status and recent applications.

Extension Permissions Explained

The ApplyTrack extension requests specific permissions to function:

ApplyTrack uses high-grade encryption for all data transmission. Your application data is strictly yours and never shared with third parties.

Troubleshooting

Extension Icon Not Appearing

  1. Check that the installation completed successfully in your browser’s extensions page
  2. Look for the puzzle piece icon (Chrome/Edge) or add-ons icon (Firefox) in your toolbar
  3. Pin the ApplyTrack extension from the extensions menu
  4. Restart your browser if the icon still doesn’t appear

Cannot Sign In

  1. Verify you have an active ApplyTrack account at applytrack.ai/login
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Clear browser cache and cookies, then try again
  4. Disable other extensions temporarily to check for conflicts
  5. Try signing in through the main dashboard first, then refresh the extension

Extension Shows Offline Status

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Verify the ApplyTrack service status at status.applytrack.ai
  3. Sign out and sign back in to refresh the connection
  4. Check if your browser is blocking third-party connections
  5. Temporarily disable VPN or proxy settings that might interfere

Not Detecting Applications

  1. Ensure you’re on a supported platform
  2. Verify the extension icon shows green (active) status
  3. Check that you’ve completed the entire application submission (clicked final “Submit” button)
  4. Some job boards may require additional time to process—check your dashboard in 1-2 minutes

High Memory Usage

  1. The extension uses minimal resources, but multiple open job board tabs can increase memory usage
  2. Close unused job board tabs
  3. Clear cached data from the extension settings
  4. Restart your browser

Extension Conflicts

  1. Disable other job-related extensions temporarily
  2. Check for ad blockers or privacy extensions that might interfere with application detection
  3. Whitelist ApplyTrack domains in your security extensions

Updating the Extension

The ApplyTrack extension updates automatically:
  • Chrome and Edge check for updates every few hours
  • Firefox updates extensions daily
  • Manual update: Visit your browser’s extensions page and click “Update” if available
We recommend keeping the extension up-to-date to ensure compatibility with the latest job board changes and security improvements.

Uninstalling

To remove the extension:
  1. Navigate to your browser’s extensions page
  2. Find ApplyTrack in the list
  3. Click Remove or Uninstall
  4. Confirm removal
Uninstalling the extension will stop automatic tracking, but your existing application data in the dashboard remains intact. You can reinstall at any time to resume tracking.
