The CricTalk Leaderboard showcases the most active community members based on their participation in match room discussions. Compete with fellow cricket fans to earn your spot among the top contributors.

How Rankings Work

The leaderboard ranks users based on a simple but powerful metric:

Message Count

Your leaderboard position is determined by the total number of messages you send in match rooms. The more you participate in cricket discussions, the higher you climb.

What Counts Toward Your Ranking

  • Every message sent in any match room
  • Messages in Live, Upcoming, and Finished rooms all count equally
  • Messages in both locked and unlocked rooms (if you sent them before locking)

What Doesn’t Count

  • Posts on the main feed (these are separate from room messages)
  • Comments on posts
  • Deleted messages
  • Messages in deleted rooms
The best way to climb the leaderboard is to actively participate in live match discussions during games!

Climbing the Ranks

Strategies to improve your leaderboard position:
Live match rooms are the most active. Join ongoing games and contribute to discussions to quickly accumulate messages.
Don’t limit yourself to one match. Participate in several rooms across different matches to increase your overall message count.
While message count drives rankings, meaningful contributions help build your reputation in the community beyond just numbers.
Regular daily participation adds up over time. Even a few messages per match contributes to your total.

Seasonal Competition

The leaderboard creates ongoing competition:
  • Rankings update continuously as users send messages
  • No reset periods - your total messages accumulate over time
  • Climb from position 10 to the podium through consistent engagement
  • Compete with friends to see who’s the most dedicated cricket fan
Challenge your cricket-loving friends to see who can reach the podium first!

This clear format makes it easy to compare your performance with other top contributors.

Performance Tracking

Use the leaderboard to:
  • Track your progress toward the top 10
  • See how many messages separate you from the next rank
  • Monitor the competition and set message count goals
  • Celebrate reaching new milestones (top 10, top 5, podium)

Understanding Your Position

Finding Yourself

If you’re in the top 10, you’ll see your position on the leaderboard. If you’re outside the top 10, you won’t appear in the current display.
Keep participating in match rooms to increase your message count and break into the top 10!

Message Count Requirements

The message count needed for each tier varies based on community activity:
  • Top 10: Varies by overall community engagement
  • Podium (Top 3): Requires significantly more messages than positions 4-10
  • 1st Place: The most dedicated contributor
These thresholds change as the community grows and users send more messages.

Best Practices

Don’t spam messages just to climb ranks. Contribute meaningful thoughts, reactions, and analysis to cricket discussions.
Join rooms for different match types (ODI, TEST, T20) and different teams to broaden your cricket knowledge and engagement.
The most natural way to send many messages is to actively watch and discuss live cricket. Your passion will show in your engagement.
Refresh the leaderboard after active participation to see your rank updates and stay motivated to climb higher.
Reaching the top 10 or the podium is an achievement. Share your accomplishment with the community!

Competitive Features

Visual Recognition

Leaderboard placement provides community recognition:
  • Podium users: Prominently featured at the top of the screen
  • Top 10 users: Listed in the extended rankings
  • Profile integration: Your leaderboard status may be shown on your profile

Motivation to Engage

The leaderboard drives healthy competition:
  • Gamifies match room participation
  • Encourages regular engagement with live cricket
  • Creates goals for community members (e.g., “I want to reach top 5”)
  • Fosters a sense of achievement and community status
Remember that quality discussions are valued in the community. Don’t sacrifice meaningful engagement for rank climbing.

Leaderboard Etiquette

  • No spam: Avoid sending repetitive or meaningless messages just to increase your count
  • Respect others: Congratulate users who climb above you
  • Stay positive: Competition should be friendly and enhance the cricket fan experience
  • Contribute value: Your messages should add to discussions, not just pad your stats
The leaderboard is designed to celebrate the most engaged cricket fans, not incentivize poor behavior.
