Posts are the heart of CricTalk, allowing you to share your cricket opinions, analyses, and reactions with the community. Connect with fellow cricket fans through text-based content that can be liked, commented on, and viewed by thousands.

Creating a Post

Share your cricket thoughts with the community in just a few taps.

Open the Create Post Modal

Tap the orange + button in the bottom-right corner of the Home screen to open the post creation modal.

Write Your Content

Enter your cricket-related content in the text field. You can write up to 512 characters about matches, players, predictions, or any cricket topic.
The character counter at the bottom helps you track your remaining space (e.g., “245 / 512”).

Publish Your Post

Tap the “Create Post” button in the top-right to share your post with the CricTalk community.Your post will immediately appear in the feed and be visible to all users.

Viewing the Posts Feed

The Home screen displays a personalized feed of cricket posts from the community.

Feed Sorting

Posts are automatically sorted by multiple engagement factors:

Views

Posts with more views appear higher in the feed

Likes

Highly liked posts get priority placement

Recency

Newer posts are prioritized over older content
This intelligent sorting ensures you see the most engaging and relevant cricket discussions first.

Infinite Scrolling

As you scroll down the feed, more posts automatically load. The feed loads 20 posts at a time to ensure smooth performance.

Pull to Refresh

Drag down from the top of the feed to refresh and see the latest posts from the community.

Engaging with Posts

Liking Posts

Show appreciation for great cricket content:
  1. Tap the heart icon at the bottom of any post
  2. The heart fills in red and the like counter increases
  3. Tap again to unlike the post
Your likes are tracked, and you can only like each post once. Liked posts are highlighted with a filled red heart.

Commenting on Posts

Join the conversation by adding your thoughts:
  1. Tap anywhere on a post card to open the full post view
  2. View existing comments and the full discussion
  3. Add your own comment to contribute to the conversation
The comment count is displayed on each post card (e.g., “12 Comments”).

View Tracking

CricTalk automatically tracks post views to surface popular content:
  • When you view at least 60% of a post in your feed, it counts as a view
  • Each user can only add one view per post
  • The view count appears at the bottom of each post (e.g., “342 Views”)
High view counts indicate trending cricket discussions worth checking out!

Searching for Posts

Find specific cricket topics or discussions quickly:
  1. Use the search bar at the top of the Home screen
  2. Type keywords related to cricket topics, players, or teams
  3. Results appear automatically as you type (with a 300ms debounce for smooth performance)
  4. Posts matching your search query are sorted by views, likes, and recency
Example searches:
  • “Kohli century”
  • “India vs Australia”
  • “IPL predictions”
  • “best bowler”
Clear the search field to return to the full feed view.

Managing Your Posts

You have full control over your own posts:

Editing Posts

  1. Find one of your posts in the feed (identified by edit/delete icons)
  2. Tap the pencil icon to open the edit modal
  3. Modify your content (up to 512 characters)
  4. Save your changes
Only you can edit your own posts. You cannot edit other users’ posts.

Deleting Posts

  1. Locate your post in the feed
  2. Tap the trash icon
  3. Confirm deletion when prompted
Your post will be permanently removed from the feed and all associated engagement data will be deleted.

Every post displays real-time engagement metrics:

Likes Counter

See how many users liked your post

Comments Counter

Track conversation activity on your post

Views Counter

Monitor how many users viewed your content
These metrics help you understand what content resonates with the cricket community.

Best Practices

  • Ask questions to spark discussions
  • Share unique insights or predictions
  • Reference specific matches or moments
  • Use the full 512 characters when needed for detailed analysis
Post during live matches or immediately after major cricket events for maximum engagement and visibility.
Reply to comments on your posts to build connections and encourage more discussion in the cricket community.
