Kafka provides multiple ways to discover and browse content, from curated collections on the homepage to powerful search capabilities.

Homepage

The homepage is your starting point for discovering content. It features:
  • Featured Items: Carousel of highlighted audiobooks and texts
  • Continue Reading: Quick access to items you’ve recently opened
  • Curated Collections: Organized rows and grids of content by subject, creator, or theme
  • Authors & Creators: Browse content by notable creators
  • Subject Tags: Explore content organized by topics and genres

Access the Homepage

Tap the Home icon in the bottom navigation bar to view the main feed.

Browse Featured Content

Swipe through the featured carousel at the top to see highlighted items. Tap any item to view its details.

Continue Reading

If you have recently accessed content, you’ll see a “Continue Reading” section near the top with your progress indicated by a visual shelf.

Explore Collections

Scroll down to browse various collections organized by subjects, recommendations, or themes. Each collection can be displayed as rows, grids, or columns.

Browse by Creator

Tap on any author or creator card to see all their available works.

Filter by Subject

Tap subject tags (displayed as genre chips) to view all content related to that topic.
Long-press on any item in the “Continue Reading” section to remove it from your recent list.
The Search page provides powerful tools to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Searching for Content

Open Search

Tap the Search icon in the bottom navigation bar.

Enter Search Query

Type your search term in the search bar at the top. You can search by title, creator, subject, or keywords.

Apply Filters

Use the filter chips below the search bar to refine your results:
  • Select search filters (e.g., exact matches, broad searches)
  • Choose media types (audiobooks, PDFs, EPUBs, texts)

View Results

Results appear in a grid layout. Tap any item to view its details.

Recent Searches

When you first open the Search page, you’ll see your recent searches. Tap any previous search to quickly repeat it, or swipe to remove searches from your history.
The search includes voice input support on supported devices - tap the microphone icon in the search bar to search by voice.

Search Tips

  • Broad searches: Use general terms to discover more content
  • Specific searches: Include creator names or exact titles for precise results
  • Filter combinations: Combine search filters with media types for targeted results
  • Subject searches: Search by topic or genre to explore thematic collections

Content Discovery Features

Recommendations

Kafka provides personalized recommendations based on your browsing and reading history. These appear in dedicated sections on the homepage.

Subject Collections

Content is organized into subject collections, making it easy to explore specific topics:
  • Browse by genre (fiction, non-fiction, science, history, etc.)
  • Explore by format (audiobooks, texts, periodicals)
  • Discover by language or region

Creator Pages

Tap on any creator name to view:
  • All available works by that creator
  • Creator information and biography
  • Related creators and works
Use the “Share App” prompts throughout the interface to share Kafka with others and help grow the community.
  • Bottom Navigation: Quickly switch between Home, Search, and Library
  • Profile Access: Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the homepage
  • Back Navigation: Use your device’s back button or the in-app back button to return to previous screens
  • Direct Access: Tap on any item card to view its details and access reading/listening options
The homepage content updates regularly with new featured items and recommendations. Pull down to refresh the feed.
