Prerequisites

Before installing FkNeo, ensure you have:
  • A Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, or Thunderbird)
  • Developer mode access in your browser (we’ll enable this together)
  • The latest FkNeo extension release
FkNeo works on macOS, Linux, and Windows. It’s a browser extension, so it runs anywhere your browser does!

Installation Steps

Download the Extension

Download the latest FkNeo extension from the GitHub Releases page.Look for the latest release and download the file named FkNeo-vX.X-extension.zip (where X.X is the version number).
Make sure to download from the official repository to ensure you’re getting the authentic, safe version.

Extract the ZIP File

Once downloaded, extract the ZIP file to a location on your computer.
  • Windows: Right-click the ZIP file and select “Extract All…”
  • macOS: Double-click the ZIP file
  • Linux: Use your file manager or run unzip FkNeo-vX.X-extension.zip
Remember the location where you extracted the folder - you’ll need it in the next step.

Open Browser Extensions Page

Navigate to your browser’s extensions management page:
  • Chrome: Visit chrome://extensions
  • Edge: Visit edge://extensions
  • Opera: Visit opera://extensions
  • Brave: Visit brave://extensions
You can simply type or paste this into your browser’s address bar.

Enable Developer Mode

On the extensions page, look for the Developer mode toggle in the top-right corner.Click the toggle to enable Developer mode. This allows you to install extensions from local files.
Developer mode is safe to enable. It simply allows you to install extensions that aren’t from the official store.

Load the Extension

After enabling Developer mode, you’ll see new buttons appear.Click on “Load unpacked” (or similar button depending on your browser).A file browser will open - navigate to the folder where you extracted FkNeo and select that folder.

Verify Installation

Once loaded, you should see the FkNeo extension appear in your extensions list.The extension is now installed and active! You should see the FkNeo icon in your browser’s extension toolbar.
Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access by clicking the puzzle icon and selecting “Pin” next to FkNeo.

Activate Your License

FkNeo requires a license to function beyond the trial period.To get a license:
License activation may take up to 2 business days. Plan accordingly if you need to use FkNeo for upcoming assessments.
Your license works on multiple devices, so you only need to purchase once.

Post-Installation

Once installed, FkNeo runs automatically when you visit supported exam platforms. No additional configuration is needed for basic functionality.

Troubleshooting

Extension Not Loading

If the extension doesn’t load:
  1. Make sure you selected the correct folder (the one containing manifest.json)
  2. Try refreshing the extensions page
  3. Restart your browser and try again

Developer Mode Disabled

Some organization-managed browsers may prevent enabling Developer mode. If you can’t toggle Developer mode, you may need to use a personal browser installation.

Extension Icon Not Visible

If you don’t see the FkNeo icon:
  1. Click the puzzle piece icon in your toolbar
  2. Find FkNeo in the list
  3. Click the pin icon to pin it to your toolbar

Keeping FkNeo Updated

To update FkNeo to a newer version:
  1. Download the latest release from GitHub
  2. Extract the new version
  3. Go to your extensions page
  4. Click the refresh icon on the FkNeo extension card
  5. Or remove the old version and load the new one following the installation steps above
