Gantt Maker features an intuitive dual-mode interface designed for visual project planning. The interface is organized into distinct sections that work together to provide a comprehensive project management experience.

Main Layout Sections

The interface is divided into four primary areas that enable efficient project visualization and management:

Timeline View Area

The timeline view is the central component where your project schedule comes to life. This interactive area displays:
  • Visual task bars color-coded by team member assignment
  • Time scale headers showing dates or hours depending on your selected mode
  • Task dependencies and overlaps displayed in real-time
  • Progress indicators showing task status (Not Started, In Progress, Completed)
Click directly on any task bar to cycle through progress states: Not Started → WIP (In Progress) → Completed

Team Member Panel

The team panel provides visual management of project participants:
  • Color-coded member cards with unique colors for easy identification
  • Role and specialty information displayed for each team member
  • Drag-and-drop reassignment to quickly change task ownership
  • Quick add/edit controls for managing team composition
Each team member is automatically assigned a unique color that carries through to their tasks in the timeline view, making it easy to see workload distribution at a glance.

Task List and Configuration Area

The task configuration section allows you to:
  • Define tasks with clear descriptions and details
  • Assign team members to specific tasks
  • Set task duration and scheduling parameters
  • Configure task properties and metadata
  • Reorder tasks to match project priorities
All changes are automatically saved to your browser’s local storage, ensuring you never lose your work.

Configuration Panel

The intelligent configuration area provides advanced scheduling options:
  • Weekend exclusion to skip non-working days automatically
  • Custom date exclusions for holidays and company closures
  • Time block definitions for non-working hours
  • Working hours configuration to match your team’s schedule
These settings ensure your timeline reflects realistic working conditions and accurate delivery estimates.

Dual Mode System

Gantt Maker offers two distinct timeline modes, accessible with a single click: Date Mode
  • Traditional planning by days and weeks
  • Ideal for longer-term projects spanning weeks or months
  • Displays calendar dates along the timeline
  • Automatically accounts for weekend and holiday exclusions
Hours Mode
  • Precision planning down to the hour
  • Perfect for intensive short-term projects or sprints
  • Shows hourly breakdowns across days
  • Essential for detailed resource allocation
Switch between modes instantly to view your project at different time scales without losing any data.

Key Interactive Elements

Every element in the interface supports direct manipulation:
  • Click to edit task names and descriptions in place
