Overview

StockPro’s POS interface provides a streamlined way to process customer transactions. The Nueva Venta (New Sale) screen features a product catalog, shopping cart, and quick checkout system all in one view. Navigate to Ventas > Nueva Venta to access the POS system.

Creating a New Sale

Access the POS System

Click Ventas > Nueva Venta from the sidebar, or use the + Nueva Venta button in the dashboard header

Add Customer Information (Optional)

In the cart panel, you can enter customer details:
  • Type the customer name in the Cliente (opcional) field
  • Or search for an existing customer
Customer information is optional but helpful for tracking purchase history

Add Products to Cart

Browse the catalog and click on products to add them to the cart. The system automatically creates a new ticket with an auto-generated number.

Review and Adjust Quantities

Use the cart controls to modify items before checkout

Select Payment Method

Choose from available payment options in the cart summary

Complete the Transaction

Click the ✅ Cobrar button to finalize the sale

Adding Products to Cart

Browsing the Product Catalog

The left panel displays available products in a grid layout. Each product card shows:
  • Product emoji/icon
  • Product name
  • Selling price
  • Current stock level

Searching for Products

Use the search bar at the top of the catalog:
  • Type product name or SKU in the 🔍 Buscar por nombre o SKU… field
  • Filter by category using the dropdown: Todas las categorías, Audio, Electrónica, Periféricos, or Accesorios
The search updates in real-time as you type, making it fast to find specific products

Adding Items

Click Product Card

Simply click on any product card in the catalog to add one unit to the cart

Verify Addition

The product appears in the cart panel on the right with quantity 1

Add Multiple Units

Click the same product again to increase quantity, or use the cart quantity controls
Products with zero stock are disabled (shown with reduced opacity) and cannot be added to the cart

Managing Cart Operations

Adjusting Quantities

Each item in the cart has quantity controls:

Increase Quantity

Click the + button to add one more unit

Decrease Quantity

Click the button to remove one unit

Remove Item

Decrease quantity to zero to remove the item from the cart completely
Price calculations update automatically as you adjust quantities

Clearing the Cart

To start over or cancel a transaction:

Click Clear Cart Button

Click the 🗑️ Limpiar carrito button at the bottom of the cart panel

Confirm Action

The cart is cleared immediately, removing all items
There is no undo for clearing the cart, so use this carefully

Understanding the Cart Summary

The cart summary displays a breakdown of the transaction:

Price Breakdown

  • Subtotal: Sum of all items before tax (e.g., “$0.00”)
  • Descuento: Applied discounts (currently ”— $0.00”)
  • IVA (16%): Tax calculated at 16% of subtotal
  • TOTAL: Final amount to charge customer
Tax is calculated automatically at 16% based on the subtotal amount

Example Calculation

If you add:
  • 1x Audífonos Bluetooth Pro ($89.99)
  • 2x Cable USB-C 2m ($12.50 each)
The calculation would be:
  • Subtotal: $114.99
  • IVA (16%): $18.40
  • Total: $133.39

Applying Payment Methods

Select the payment method before completing the transaction:

Open Payment Dropdown

Click the Método de pago dropdown in the cart summary

Choose Payment Type

Select from available options:
  • 💵 Efectivo (Cash)
  • 💳 Tarjeta de Crédito (Credit Card)
  • 💳 Tarjeta de Débito (Debit Card)
  • 📱 Transferencia / QR (Transfer / QR Code)

Proceed to Checkout

The selected method is stored with the transaction
Payment method selection is required before completing a sale

Completing Transactions

Review the Cart

Verify all items, quantities, and prices are correct

Confirm Total

Check the total amount displayed on the ✅ Cobrar button (e.g., “Cobrar $133.39”)

Select Payment Method

Ensure a payment method is selected from the dropdown

Click Cobrar Button

Click the green ✅ Cobrar $[amount] button to process the sale

Confirm Success

A confirmation message appears: “Venta registrada.”

Cart Resets

The cart automatically clears, ready for the next transaction
After successful checkout, the inventory is automatically updated to reflect the sold items

POS Workflow Tips

For Quick Transactions

  1. Use the product grid for visual product selection
  2. Click products directly instead of searching
  3. Use quantity buttons in cart for multiple units
  4. Keep common payment method pre-selected

For Complex Orders

  1. Use search to find specific products quickly
  2. Filter by category to browse related items
  3. Add customer name for tracking
  4. Review line items before charging

Best Practices

  • Double-check quantities before processing payment
  • Verify stock availability - out-of-stock items are grayed out
  • Use customer field for regular customers to build relationships
  • Select correct payment method for accurate reporting

Handling Common Scenarios

Empty Cart Error

If you click Cobrar with an empty cart:
  • Alert appears: “El carrito está vacío.”
  • Add at least one product before processing

Out of Stock Products

Products with zero stock:
  • Display “Sin stock” in red text
  • Appear with reduced opacity (grayed out)
  • Cannot be clicked or added to cart
  • Cursor shows “not-allowed” when hovering

Low Stock Warning

Products with low inventory:
  • Still available for sale
  • Stock count shown (e.g., “Stock: 4”)
  • Consider alerting customer about limited availability
Check the dashboard for stock alerts: “⚠️ Alerta de stock bajo: 3 productos tienen menos de 5 unidades”

Ticket Information

Each new sale automatically generates:
  • Ticket number (auto-generated)
  • Customer name (if provided)
  • List of purchased items with quantities
  • Price breakdown with tax
  • Payment method
  • Transaction timestamp
You can view completed sales in Ventas > Registro de Ventas for transaction history

Keyboard Shortcuts and Quick Actions

While in the POS screen:
  • Use search field to quickly filter products
  • Click product cards for fastest checkout
  • Tab through fields for accessibility

After Completing Sales

Completed transactions:
  • Appear in the sales register (Registro de Ventas)
  • Update inventory stock levels automatically
  • Contribute to dashboard metrics
  • Are included in reports and analytics
View today’s sales summary in the Dashboard:
  • Ventas Hoy: Total revenue for current day
  • Transacciones Hoy: Number of completed sales
  • Recent activity feed shows latest transactions
