  • Are margins improving?
  • Which categories need attention?

Using Reports for Decision Making

Inventory Decisions

Low Stock + High Sales Volume = Priority reorder
  • Example: Cable USB-C with 290 units sold but only 4 in stock
High Margin + Low Volume = Marketing opportunity
  • Consider promoting these products more
Low Margin + High Volume = Pricing review
  • Evaluate if prices need adjustment

Pricing Strategy

  • Review margin percentages in profitability report
  • Compare to your target margins
  • Identify products with margins below target
  • Adjust prices or negotiate better supplier costs

Product Selection

  • Focus on top-selling products in dashboard
  • Expand categories with high revenue
  • Consider discontinuing slow movers
  • Stock more of profitable items
Use the combination of sales volume (units sold) and profit margin to identify your “star products” that should always be in stock

Understanding System Updates

All reports reflect:
  • Real-time data from POS transactions
  • Automatic updates when inventory changes
  • Period comparisons to historical data
  • Accurate calculations of margins and totals
Reports are only as accurate as your data entry. Ensure prices and costs are correctly set in product management

Next Steps

After reviewing reports:
  1. Take Action on insights discovered
  2. Update Inventory based on stock alerts
  3. Adjust Pricing for margin optimization
  4. Plan Purchases using profitability data
  5. Set Goals based on trend analysis
Regularly reviewing reports helps you make informed decisions and grow your business strategically.
