Overview

FkNeo provides the ability to temporarily disable and re-enable its bypass functionality during an exam session. This gives you complete control over when the extension’s features are active, allowing you to choose when to use the bypass capabilities.
These controls are particularly useful if you need to demonstrate normal exam behavior or troubleshoot issues during a test.

Disable Bypass (Alt + D)

How to Disable

Press Alt + D on your keyboard at any point during your exam session to disable all FkNeo bypass functionality.
1

Press Alt + D

While on the exam page, press the Alt and D keys simultaneously.
2

Extension deactivates

All bypass features will immediately be disabled, and the exam platform’s normal restrictions will take effect.
3

Normal restrictions apply

You will now be subject to all the standard exam platform restrictions, including:
  • Tab/window switching warnings
  • Copy/paste restrictions
  • Screen recording requirements
  • All other NeoExamShield restrictions

What Happens When Disabled

Once you disable the extension with Alt + D:

Warnings Enabled

You’ll start receiving warnings for switching tabs, windows, or performing restricted actions.

Restrictions Active

All exam platform restrictions (copy/paste blocking, tab monitoring, etc.) become active.

Shortcuts Inactive

FkNeo keyboard shortcuts (Alt + M, Alt + Ctrl + B, etc.) will not work.

Normal Behavior

The exam will behave as if you’re using the standard NeoExamShield browser.
Disabling the extension may cause the test interface to freeze or behave unexpectedly. Use this feature cautiously during active exam sessions.

When to Use Alt + D

Scenarios where disabling might be useful:
  • Demonstrate normal behavior - If you need to show that you’re following exam rules
  • Troubleshooting - To determine if FkNeo is causing any technical issues
  • Voluntary compliance - When you choose to complete certain sections without assistance
  • Avoid detection - If you’re concerned about unusual activity patterns
Once disabled, the extension will remain inactive until you explicitly re-enable it with Alt + R.

Re-enable Bypass (Alt + R)

How to Re-enable

Press Alt + R on your keyboard to re-activate all FkNeo bypass features.
1

Press Alt + R

While on the exam page (with the extension currently disabled), press the Alt and R keys simultaneously.
2

Page reloads

The exam window will automatically reload to apply the bypass settings.
3

Extension reactivates

After the page reloads, all FkNeo bypass features will be active again.
4

Bypass functionality restored

You can now:
  • Switch tabs and windows freely
  • Copy and paste content
  • Use keyboard shortcuts (Alt + M, Alt + Ctrl + B, etc.)
  • Access all FkNeo features

What Happens When Re-enabled

Page Reloads

The exam page automatically reloads to reinitialize the bypass functionality.

Bypasses Active

All NeoExamShield restrictions are bypassed again.

Shortcuts Work

All FkNeo keyboard shortcuts become functional.

Freedom Restored

You regain the ability to switch tabs, copy/paste, and use other features.
The automatic page reload means you’ll lose any unsaved work in text fields. Save your answers before re-enabling!

Important Considerations

Page Reload Behavior

When you press Alt + R to re-enable the extension, the exam page will automatically reload. This is necessary to reinitialize the bypass functionality.
Before re-enabling:
  • Save any answers or code you’ve written
  • Make sure you’re not in the middle of submitting a question
  • Be aware that you might lose unsaved progress

Potential Test Freezing

Disabling the extension with Alt + D may cause the test to freeze or become unresponsive in some cases.
If the test freezes after disabling:
  1. Try pressing Alt + R to re-enable (this will reload the page)
  2. Refresh the page manually if needed
  3. Contact support if the issue persists

Cannot Disable Via Menu

You cannot turn off the FkNeo extension for a particular site using the browser’s extension popup menu. You must use the Alt + D keyboard shortcut.
This is by design to ensure the extension operates correctly with the exam platform.

Complete Control Flow

Troubleshooting

Possible solutions:
  1. Make sure you’re on the exam page (not another tab)
  2. Try pressing the keys again more deliberately
  3. Check if another application is intercepting the keyboard shortcut
  4. Verify the extension is properly installed and active
If the page doesn’t reload when re-enabling:
  1. Manually refresh the page using F5 or Ctrl + R
  2. Close and reopen the exam tab
  3. Check your internet connection
  4. Try disabling and re-enabling again
If the exam interface freezes after pressing Alt + D:
  1. Immediately press Alt + R to re-enable (this will reload the page)
  2. If that doesn’t work, manually refresh the page
  3. As a last resort, close the tab and reopen the exam link
You may lose unsaved progress if you need to reload or reopen the exam.
If FkNeo shortcuts don’t work after pressing Alt + R:
  1. Wait for the page to fully reload
  2. Check if the extension icon shows it’s active
  3. Try disabling (Alt + D) and re-enabling (Alt + R) again
  4. Reinstall the extension if problems persist

Best Practices

1

Use sparingly

Only disable/enable when necessary, as the process reloads the page and may cause disruptions.
2

Save before toggling

Always save your work before disabling or re-enabling to avoid losing progress.
3

Test in advance

Practice using Alt + D and Alt + R during a practice test to understand the behavior.
4

Have a plan

Know when you’ll need the bypass active vs. disabled before starting your exam.
Consider keeping the extension enabled throughout your exam for maximum flexibility, unless you have a specific reason to disable it.
