First Launch
When you launch Musika for the first time, you’ll be greeted with the main interface. Here’s how to get started:Grant Permissions
Musika may request certain permissions to function properly:
- Storage Access: Required for downloading songs and caching
- Media Access: To access and play your music library
- Network Access: For streaming music from YouTube Music
- Notification Access: For playback controls and notifications
Grant the permissions as needed. You can always modify these later in your device’s app settings.
Explore the Interface
Familiarize yourself with the main sections of the app:
- Home: Your personalized dashboard with recommendations
- Charts: Browse trending and popular music
- Podcasts: Discover audio podcast content
- Moods & Genres: Explore music by mood and genre
- Library: Access your playlists and downloaded content
Optional Configuration
YouTube Music Account (Optional)
While Musika works without an account, you can optionally sign in to access your YouTube Music library:Sign In
Follow the prompts to sign in with your Google account
Signing in allows you to sync your YouTube Music playlists, liked songs, and listening history.
Audio Quality Settings
Optimize your streaming and download quality based on your preferences:- Go to Settings > Audio Quality
- Configure the following:
- Streaming Quality: Choose between Low, Medium, High, or Auto (adapts to your connection)
- Download Quality: Select quality for offline downloads
- Data Saver Mode: Enable to reduce data usage on cellular connections
Higher quality audio provides better sound but uses more data and storage. Use Auto mode to let Musika adjust quality based on your network connection.
Playback Preferences
Customize how music plays:- Navigate to Settings > Playback
- Adjust settings such as:
- Crossfade Duration: Smooth transitions between tracks (Beta)
- Gapless Playback: Enable seamless track transitions
- Playback Speed: Adjust playback speed (0.5x - 2.0x)
- Audio Effects: Configure equalizer and audio enhancements
Download Management
Set up offline listening:- Go to Settings > Downloads
- Configure:
- Download Location: Choose where to store downloaded music
- Auto-Download: Automatically download liked songs or playlists
- Download on WiFi Only: Prevent downloads on cellular data
Sleep Timer
Set up automatic playback control:- During playback, access the Sleep Timer from the player controls
- Choose from preset durations or set a custom time
- Enable Fade Out for gradual volume reduction before stopping
Chromecast & DLNA Setup
Stream music to other devices: Chromecast:- Ensure your device and Chromecast are on the same WiFi network
- Tap the cast icon in the player to connect
- Musika automatically discovers DLNA/UPnP devices on your local network
- Access compatible devices including Smart TVs, speakers, and media renderers
- Select your device from the streaming menu
DLNA/UPnP streaming is compatible with popular devices like Sonos speakers, Smart TVs, and other network media renderers.
