Overview

Creating a customer account on Ecom gives you access to personalized shopping features, order tracking, wishlists, wallet functionality, and more. This guide walks you through the registration process.

Registration Methods

Standard Email Registration

Create an account using your email address:

Access Registration Page

Enter Your Information

Fill in the registration form:
  • Full Name: Your complete name
  • Email Address: Valid email (must be unique)
  • Phone Number: Contact number (must be unique)
  • Password: Strong password (minimum requirements apply)
  • Confirm Password: Re-enter your password

Accept Terms and Conditions

Read and accept the platform’s terms of service and privacy policy

Complete Registration

Click “Register” or “Create Account” to submit

Email Verification

If email verification is enabled:

Check Your Email

After registration, check your inbox for a verification email

Click Verification Link

Open the email and click the verification link

Confirm Verification

Your email is now verified and your account is fully activated

Start Shopping

Log in and begin browsing products
If email verification is disabled, your account is immediately activated upon registration.

Social Media Registration

If social login is enabled, register using:

Facebook Login

Select the Facebook login option

Authorize Access

Grant Ecom permission to access your basic Facebook information

Complete Profile

Add any additional required information

Start Shopping

Your account is created and you’re logged in

Allow Ecom to access your basic profile information

Complete Registration

Your account is created automatically
Social media registration is faster and eliminates the need to remember another password. You can always add a password later in your account settings.

Account Validation

Email Uniqueness

  • Each email address can only be registered once
  • If your email is already in use, you’ll see: “Email already exists!”
  • Use the “Forgot Password” feature if you’ve previously registered

Phone Number Uniqueness

  • Each phone number can only be registered once
  • Ensure you enter the correct phone number
  • Phone numbers are used for order notifications

Password Requirements

Create a strong password:
  • Minimum length (typically 8 characters)
  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers
  • Special characters recommended
  • Must match confirmation field
Password requirements may vary based on platform configuration. The registration form will display specific requirements.

Referral Registration

If someone referred you to the platform:

Click Referral Link

Use the unique referral link provided by your referrer

Complete Registration

Fill out the registration form as normal

Automatic Referral Tracking

Your account is automatically linked to your referrer

Potential Benefits

If affiliate system is active:
  • Your referrer may earn commission on your purchases
  • You may receive special offers or bonuses

After Registration

Automatic Account Setup

When you register, the system automatically:
  1. Creates User Account: Your main login credentials
  2. Creates Customer Profile: Links to your user account
  3. Generates Referral Code: Unique code for referring others (if affiliate system is active)
  4. Sets User Type: Marks you as “customer”
  5. Initializes Wallet: Creates wallet account (if wallet system is active)

After login, you’re redirected to your customer dashboard

Customer Dashboard

Your dashboard provides access to:

Profile Completion

For the best experience, complete your profile:

Click on your name or avatar > Profile/Account Settings

Add Profile Photo

Upload a profile picture (optional)

  • Emergency contact (optional)

Add Shipping Addresses

Add one or more delivery addresses:
  • Address line 1 and 2
  • City
  • State/Province
  • Postal code
  • Country

Save Changes

Update your profile information
Adding multiple addresses makes checkout faster:
  • Home address
  • Work address
  • Gift delivery addresses
Mark your most-used address as default.

Upgrading to Seller

If you want to sell on the platform:

Navigate to “Become a Seller”

Troubleshooting Registration

Common Issues

Q: “Email already exists” error
A: This email is already registered. Use “Forgot Password” to recover your account or register with a different email.
Q: “Phone already exists” error
A: This phone number is registered to another account. Use a different number or contact support.
Q: Didn’t receive verification email
A:
  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Ensure email address is correct
  3. Wait a few minutes and check again
  4. Request a new verification email
  5. Contact support if issue persists
Q: Social login isn’t working
A:
  1. Ensure social login is enabled on the platform
  2. Check your social media account is active
  3. Try logging in directly with email/password
  4. Contact support for assistance
Q: Password doesn’t meet requirements
A: Check the specific requirements displayed on the form and ensure your password includes:
  • Minimum length
  • Mixed case letters
  • Numbers
  • Special characters (if required)
