Introduction
The Aircraft Tracking module in SIGEAC allows you to maintain detailed records for your entire fleet, including aircraft specifications, flight hours, cycles, and component tracking.Aircraft management is found in the Planificación module under
/{company-slug}/planificacion/aeronavesAircraft Information Structure
Each aircraft record in SIGEAC contains:- Basic Identification - Registration, serial number, model
- Manufacturer Details - Aircraft and engine manufacturer
- Time Tracking - Flight hours and cycles
- Ownership - Owner and operator information
- Location - Current physical location
- Components - Installed parts and their tracking data
- Status - Current operational status
Accessing Aircraft Management
Navigate to Planning Module
From the main navigation, select Planificación from your company’s module list.
Registering a New Aircraft
Click Register Aircraft
On the aircraft management page, click the “Registrar Aeronave” button in the top-right corner.
Enter Basic Information
Fill in the aircraft identification details:Required Fields:
- Acronym/Registration - Aircraft registration number (e.g., YV-123)
- Model - Aircraft model designation
- Serial Number - Manufacturer serial number
- Manufacturer - Aircraft manufacturer (select from existing or create new)
- Client/Operator - Who owns or operates the aircraft
Add Technical Details
Enter the aircraft’s technical specifications:
- Fabrication Date - When the aircraft was manufactured
- Flight Hours - Total flight hours (can be formatted as “4,324.00”)
- Flight Cycles - Total cycles (takeoff/landing pairs)
- Engine Type - Type of engine installed
- Number of Engines - Engine count
Flight hours and cycles can include decimal values and are displayed with proper formatting (e.g., 4,324.00 hours).
Specify Ownership and Operations
Define ownership and operational details:
- Owner - Legal owner of the aircraft
- Aircraft Operator - Company operating the aircraft (may differ from owner)
- Authorizing - Select either:
PROPIETARIO(Owner)EXPLOTADOR(Operator)
Set Location
Select the current physical location of the aircraft from your company’s registered locations.
Add Comments and Status
Include any additional information:
- Comments - Free-text field for notes about the aircraft
- Status - Operational status:
EN POSESION- In possessionVENDIDO- SoldRENTADO- Rented
Managing Aircraft Components
Each aircraft has installed parts/components that need individual tracking.Component Structure
Components can be hierarchical:- Father Components - Main assemblies (e.g., engine, landing gear)
- Sub-components - Parts within main assemblies (e.g., engine accessories)
Adding Components to Aircraft
Open Aircraft Details
Click on the aircraft’s tab in the aircraft management page to view its full details.
Add New Component
Click “Agregar Componente” and enter:Identification:
- Part Number - Manufacturer part number
- Part Name - Description of the component
- Serial Number - Individual serial number (optional for some parts)
- Condition Type - Current condition:
- SERVICIABLE (Serviceable)
- NUEVO (New)
- USADO (Used)
- REPARADO (Repaired)
- REMOVIDO - NO SERVICIABLE (Removed - Unserviceable)
- REMOVIDO - CUSTODIA (Removed - In custody)
- Time Since New (TSN) - Total hours on component
- Time Since Overhaul (TSO) - Hours since last overhaul
- Cycles Since New (CSN) - Total cycles on component
- Cycles Since Overhaul (CSO) - Cycles since last overhaul
Component Time Tracking
Component times are updated through flight control entries:When you log a flight in the Control de Vuelos module, the system automatically updates:
- Aircraft total hours and cycles
- All installed component hours and cycles
- Historical flight records for traceability
Searching and Filtering Aircraft
The aircraft management page provides powerful search and filter capabilities:Search Functionality
Use the Search Bar
Enter search terms in the search box to filter aircraft by:
- Registration/Acronym (e.g., “YV-123”)
- Serial number
- Model (e.g., “CESSNA 172”)
- Manufacturer
- Client/Operator name
Apply Operator Filter
Use the operator dropdown to filter aircraft by specific client/operator:
- Select “Todos los operadores” to show all aircraft
- Choose a specific operator to show only their aircraft
View Filtered Results
The aircraft list updates in real-time as you type. Active filters are displayed as badges below the search bar.
Aircraft Organization by Operator
Aircraft are automatically grouped by their operator/client:Viewing Grouped Aircraft
- Accordion View - When viewing all operators, aircraft are grouped in expandable sections
- Operator Header - Shows operator name and aircraft count
- Aircraft Tabs - Each aircraft appears as a tab within its operator’s section
Benefits of Operator Grouping
- Quickly see fleet size per operator
- Organize maintenance by client
- Simplify multi-client operations
- Improve invoice and service tracking
Viewing Aircraft Details
Click on any aircraft tab to view comprehensive information:- General Information
- Components
- Maintenance History
- Flight Control
- Registration and serial number
- Manufacturer and model
- Current flight hours and cycles
- Owner and operator details
- Location and status
Editing Aircraft Information
Click Edit Button
Look for the Edit button (typically a pencil icon) in the aircraft details section.
Modify Information
Update any editable fields:
- Location changes
- Status updates
- Comment additions
- Contact information
Flight Control Integration
Aircraft tracking integrates with the Flight Control module for automated time updates:Recording a Flight
Create Flight Entry
Enter flight details:
- Flight number
- Aircraft (select from your fleet)
- Origin and destination
- Flight date
- Flight hours for this leg
- Cycles (usually 1 per flight)
Flight history entries are immutable for audit purposes. Contact an administrator if corrections are needed.
Work Order Integration
Aircraft records integrate with the maintenance work order system:- Automatic Aircraft Selection - Work orders can be created directly from aircraft details
- Component Replacement - Removing/installing components updates aircraft parts list
- Time Synchronization - Component times are updated when work orders close
- Service History - All work orders are linked to aircraft records
Aircraft Status Management
Proper status management ensures accurate fleet tracking:Status Options
- EN POSESION (In Possession)
- VENDIDO (Sold)
- RENTADO (Rented)
Aircraft is owned or operated by the company and available for operations.Use when:
- Aircraft is actively flying
- Aircraft is in maintenance but still owned
- Aircraft is temporarily grounded
Best Practices
Registration Standards
Registration Standards
- Use consistent registration format (e.g., YV-123, not yv123 or YV 123)
- Verify registration number before creating record
- Include country prefix for international operations
- Document registration changes in comments field
Time Tracking Accuracy
Time Tracking Accuracy
- Update flight hours immediately after operations
- Verify component times during maintenance
- Reconcile actual times with logs quarterly
- Document time adjustments in comments
Component Management
Component Management
- Maintain complete component hierarchies
- Update condition after inspections
- Track both time and calendar limits
- Document all component changes in work orders
Data Quality
Data Quality
- Regular audits of aircraft data
- Verify operator information is current
- Keep location data updated
- Archive instead of delete for historical records
Troubleshooting
Can't find specific aircraft
Can't find specific aircraft
Solution:
- Clear all filters and try searching again
- Try searching by serial number instead of registration
- Verify aircraft is registered in the selected company
- Check if operator filter is excluding the aircraft
Component times not updating after flight
Component times not updating after flight
Possible causes:
- Flight entry not saved correctly
- Component not properly linked to aircraft
- Component marked as removed
Duplicate registration error
Duplicate registration error
Solution:
- Check if aircraft already exists (search thoroughly)
- Verify registration number is correct
- Contact administrator if legitimate duplicate needed (rare)
