Choose your elemental path

Before you begin, you’ll need to decide which elemental school aligns with your playstyle:

Water

Healing & SupportMaster water magic to heal allies, control the battlefield, and deal sustained damage to enemies.

Earth

Defense & DamageHarness earth magic for powerful defensive buffs and devastating physical damage.

Air

Mobility & ControlCommand the winds to control enemy movement and strike from unexpected angles.
You can learn spells from multiple schools! The Elemental Staff provides spell power to all three elements.

Your first steps

Gather crafting materials

Each spell book requires different materials:Tome of the Aquamancer (Water):
  • 1 Kelp
  • 1 Prismarine Crystals
  • 1 Book
  • 1 Lapis Lazuli
Tome of the Terramancer (Earth):
  • 1 Pointed Dripstone
  • 1 Dripstone Block
  • 1 Book

Tome of the Aeromancer (Air):

Craft your spell book

Use shapeless crafting to combine the materials for your chosen school. The spell book will grant you access to all spells in that element.

Obtain a weapon

Start with a basic wand or staff. Early options include:
  • Wand (Tier 0): +3.0 spell power to your chosen element
  • Staff (Tier 1): +4.0 spell power to your chosen element
  • Elemental Staff: +5.0 to ALL elemental schools (water, earth, air, fire)

Equip armor

Basic Elemental Robes provide +20% spell power to all elements. They’re the perfect starter armor for any wizard.See armor sets for the full progression path.

Learn your first spells

With your spell book equipped, you’ll automatically learn all spells for that school. Open your spell selection screen to choose which spells to equip.

Understanding spell costs

Spells require resources to cast:
  • Elemental Stones: Aqua Stone (water), Terra Stone (earth), Wind Stone (air)
  • Exhaust: A fatigue meter that regenerates over time
  • Cooldowns: Time before you can cast the spell again
Elemental stones can be found in loot chests or crafted. Always keep a stack in your inventory!

Water path

A simple water projectile that deals damage and applies the Soaked effect. Perfect for learning spell mechanics.Cost: 15s cooldown, 0.1 exhaust
Strikes enemies in a line with water magic. Great for crowd control.Cost: 12s cooldown, 0.2 exhaust, 1 Aqua Stone
Channels healing in a cone area for yourself and allies while damaging enemies. Essential for survivability.Cost: 15s cooldown, 0.2 exhaust, 1 Aqua Stone

Earth path

Hurls a stone projectile at your enemy. Simple but effective.Cost: 4s cooldown, 0.05 exhaust
Grants +1.0 armor and +0.5 armor toughness for 16 seconds. Your primary defensive buff.Cost: 15s cooldown, 0.1 exhaust
Launches a powerful spear that applies bleeding to enemies. High damage potential.Cost: 18s cooldown, 0.2 exhaust, 1 Terra Stone

Air path

Creates a wind blast that knocks back enemies. Essential for keeping distance.Cost: 6s cooldown, 0.1 exhaust
Slashes enemies with compressed air. Fast casting and good damage.Cost: 12s cooldown, 0.2 exhaust, 1 Wind Stone
Launches enemies into the air, making them vulnerable to air damage. Great setup for combos.Cost: 15s cooldown, 0.2 exhaust, 1 Wind Stone

Combat tips

  1. Manage your cooldowns: Don’t waste powerful spells on weak enemies
  2. Combine elements: Use the Elemental Staff to access multiple schools
  3. Status effects matter: Updraft makes enemies vulnerable to air, Soaked increases lightning damage
  4. Armor synergies: Specialized armor (Kelp, Dripstone, Wind) provides school-specific bonuses
  5. Carry elemental stones: Always keep a stack of your primary element’s stone
